About The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing contract review as well as other administrative and strategic input into the company's businesses.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains a complete understanding of Utilitra's business, strategy, customers, and long-term plans
  • Reviews all contracts, leases, and many other business documents for accuracy, thoroughness, and business alignment
  • Implements processes and procedures to ensure the company does not sign contracts that are not in its best interests
  • Reviews leases at onset and before each renewal; makes recommendations for updates as prudent
  • Corresponds with customers on past due accounts, making occasional collection calls
  • Takes minutes and tracks official corporate documents
  • Works closely with Administration, Safety, Human Resources, Workers Compensation, Accounting, and senior leadership
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for Contract Review
  • Reviews insurance contracts and claims ensuring language is clear and consistent with business needs, recommending additional provisions and/or the removal of some language
  • Proactively participates in meetings with leadership reporting on contracts, concerns, litigation, and identifiable exposures that may have an adverse impact on the corporate goals
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of company risk management policy/procedures in order to make good business recommendations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or prudent


  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; additional experience could be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years' contract review experience required
  • 5+ years' experience as a corporate paralegal, a contract administrator or an insurance administrator
  • Experience in risk management beneficial
  • Discretion, professionalism, ownership, and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
