Overview:  Responsible for engineering activities associated with the design and construction of overhead and underground distribution and transmission electrical systems. 

Summary of duties and responsibilities: 

  • Performs design activities associated with the layout of electrical distribution systems
  • Creates physical layout drawings for electrical systems when needed
  • Conducts field audits for the construction of electrical power systems
  • Completes daily contract administration
  • Attends project meetings
  • Collaborates to resolve problems, respond to customer inquiries, and manage projects
  • Fosters a safe, productive job site environment and quality work products; encourages an attitude of safety and quality in others
  • Presents information to individuals and groups; prepares reports and presentations
  • Ensures the work product is quality, timely and efficient
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited school in an engineering discipline
  • Must have exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to participate in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor environment
  • Willingness to work at project sites requiring occasional overnight stay
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship


Preferred Experience:

  • Five (5)+ years of experience in the engineering/utility industry
  • CAD and/or MicroStation
  • SAG 10
  • ARC Flash Studies
  • Fiber Optic design
  • Contractual related project/work environment
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Engineer Intern (EI) working towards PE licensure (or the willingness to work toward these credentials)
